School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS)

At Nullawarre & District Primary School, we are proud to be a School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) school. SWPBS is an evidence-based framework that creates a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive.

Rather than simply responding to behaviour, we explicitly teach the behaviours we want to see. Students learn, practise and receive regular feedback on our three school-wide expectations:

  • Be Respectful
  • Be a Learner
  • Be Safe

These expectations are underpinned by our school values of Respect, Responsibility, Curiosity and Personal Excellence, helping students develop the skills they need to be successful learners and positive members of our school community.

Positive behaviour is recognised and celebrated every day. Students earn hole punches on their reward cards for consistently demonstrating our school expectations. As a whole school, students work together towards a shared hole punch goal each term. Once the goal is reached, everyone celebrates with a whole-school reward. This encourages teamwork, responsibility and a shared commitment to creating a positive, respectful and inclusive school culture where everyone’s positive choices contribute to our collective success.

When students need additional support, our staff use consistent, supportive processes that focus on teaching, reflection and helping students make positive choices in the future.

We encourage families to explore our SWPBS Student & Family Handbook to learn more about our expectations, rewards and the positive behaviour systems we use across our school.
