STEAM & Agriculture

STEAM

STEAM is an educational approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking. The end results are students who take thoughtful risks, engage in experiential learning, persist in problem solving, embrace collaboration and work through the creative process. We are developing the innovators, educators, leaders, and learners of the 21st Century!

Agriculture

At Nullawarre and District Primary School, all students from Prep to Year Six are engaged in an extensive agricultural program, which is contextualised through our Literacy, Numeracy and STEAM learning areas. We are proud to partner with many of our local farms and draw on the expertise of our parents and community members to engage students in the wide variety of pathways in dairy. A focus of this program is our calf program throughout Term 2 where each classroom has the responsibility of rearing calves and learning from them. Students also experience excursions, incursions, guest speakers, and a wide variety of other learning opportunities.
